National Logistics Management Honored as Part of the

Inc. Inner City 100

Year-over-year business growth propels Detroit-based company into the top 100

DETROIT – April 20, 2006Inc. magazine has named National Logistics Management (NLM) number 15 on the list of the top 100 fastest growing companies located in America’s inner cities. A joint partnership between Inc. and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), the Inner City 100 awards honor urban-based companies for outstanding five year sales growth. This marks the second time NLM, a third-party, non-asset based logistics provider, has been among the Inner City 100.

The award, chosen from more than 4,500 entrants, honors businesses working to create jobs, income and wealth for inner city residents and striving to increase economic vitality in inner city areas. This year’s winners have an average growth rate of 655 percent. Detroit-based NLM demonstrated high growth by empowering its employees. NLM’s event specialists coordinate the most expeditious, cost-effective shipping modes possible utilizing proprietary, Web-based software for a variety of clients.

“We are proud to again be recognized by Inc. and the ICIC as one of the nation’s top companies operating in the inner city,” said Scott Taylor, CEO and founder, NLM. “Our team at NLM is energized by our location and the surrounding community here in Detroit. We are looking forward to continued business growth and hope that it will help promote a strong urban economy.”

To be considered among the Inner City 100, a company must be headquartered in or have at least 51 percent of its physical operations in “distressed” urban areas.  NLM has been located in inner city Detroit since it was founded in 1991.

The final company rankings were announced April 19 at the Inner City 100 Awards Dinner gala, the grand finale of the two-day Inner City 100 Summit in Boston.
